The trip so far........

We Arrived an hour late to Mexico city and then checked into our hostel called Ticalli, which is run by Girl Scouts. On the saturday morning we had a city tour of Mexico City and learnt all about its history and how it was formed. That evening we flew to Chetumal, which is on the Mexican/Belize border. the weather was completely different to Mexico City, it was hot and humid! we had a goods nights sleep and then in morning we got picked up by our belizean tour guide and we were on our way to San Ignacio! We met our Guides for the week Linda and Gonzo.
Today (monday} we went to see some mayan ruins and then hiked through the belize jungle to some mayan caves, we couldn't canoe as the rivers were too high as its been raining alot before we arrived. this evening we are off to have a traditional belizean dinner cooked for us.

Departure - we are on our way at last !

With a lot of laughter and a few tears the group have finally started their adventure. Excited and apprehensive the girls loaded their packs onto the bus, did a final check to make sure they had everything and then after the compulsory photo session boarded the bus and they were off.

Preparation and Team Building

The group formed in November 2008, we had lots of fun on team days and weekend camps together, planning the trip and getting to know each other!
