We Arrived an hour late to Mexico city and then checked into our hostel called Ticalli, which is run by Girl Scouts. On the saturday morning we had a city tour of Mexico City and learnt all about its history and how it was formed. That evening we flew to Chetumal, which is on the Mexican/Belize border. the weather was completely different to Mexico City, it was hot and humid! we had a goods nights sleep and then in morning we got picked up by our belizean tour guide and we were on our way to San Ignacio! We met our Guides for the week Linda and Gonzo.
Today (monday} we went to see some mayan ruins and then hiked through the belize jungle to some mayan caves, we couldn't canoe as the rivers were too high as its been raining alot before we arrived. this evening we are off to have a traditional belizean dinner cooked for us.

Great to get update; thanks Sam. We've been wondering how you all are. Missing you Katie, L & F sleep on your bed most nights; Aileen arrives tomorrow then Aileen and I are off to Santorini; Dad and James are going fishing; Phoned Lorraine & Dave on the ship to give them the update - isn't technology great! just zoomed in on google earth and saw your resort in san Ignacio - looks really nice. Me, dad, Lil and boys are just sitting here watching west ham!!! Its 11am!!! live from china!!! just booked for them all to go off and see ice age 3D get shot of them for a while.
went up to see nan ivy and do the dreaded morrisons. auntie pat came and met us there. cant stop thinking about you all and how you are getting on. no more sick i hope!!!!

ReplyDeleteEllie, we have just got back from our camping trip. Weather was abit changeable so it was VERY cold at nighttime. Isaac did all kinds of Izy type stuff like boarding, fossilling, zootrips and toy shopping of course. I think he was lonely without you around. We all miss you like crazy. Love you miss miss!! I think I may just have to add Belize on my list of places to visit. It sounded fantastic and I am glad that you were able to do so much. Pity about the river tubing not going ahead as it is so much fun but none of us would want you all swept away in strong currents - it's crazy enough when the river is slow flowing.Looking forward to seeing all the photos when you get back.
